Bev Butler

Bev scared the hell out of me by entitling her email with new listings Seeing Red! However, it does look as if Bev has been seeing red – perhaps a need to associate with some hot colour in these cool windy days we seem to be experiencing on the East Coast of Oz!

Bev’s latest additions are red hot, no doubt about it!

Al Ussher

It has been a while since we have seen new listings from Al, but, already a skilled artisan in his field, Al continues to develop new products and ideas made even more unique by the fact that he is one of only a handful of Australian flameworkers working in borosilicate glass. His latest additions are stunning and I can assure you that, having seen his work first hand, these pieces will be all the more beautiful in reality. There is, no matter how good the images are, something that is just lost in the translation with borosilicate ………. another dimension, depths and flashes of surprise colours that are not apparent in photos.

All of Al’s work is now stamped with his initials authenticating it’s creator.

Newsletter 4 – New listings from Sandy Morrice and Su Bishop, as well as more new listings of semi-precious beads and pearls.

New listings from Sandy Morrice and Su Bishop, as well as more new listings of semi-precious beads and pearls.

Sandy Morrice

Sandy recently attended workshops with Sarah Hornik here in Queensland and the influence on her current work is clear – lots of reactions, fabulous free form beads with layers and layers of colour as well as lots of detail!

Sandy has also extended her current clearance sale until the end of August, so be quick to grab a bargain. New photos have been submitted which better illustrate the distinctive qualities in her beads……..please, don’t just look at the new listings!

Su Bishop

Over in Exmouth, Western Australia, in very close proximity to Ningaloo Reef, home of the whale shark, (as well as many other tropical reef dwellers) Su continues to ‘rock out’ some fabulous beads. Her latest submissions of ‘Critters’ and ‘Focal beads’ clearly showcase her passion and love of her present environment as well as her long established connections with design.

More updates to semi-precious stones and pearls

Some great new listings on semi-precious stones and pearls again this week. Over forty new items have been listed including some pretty amazing extra large agate with quartz inclusions and some fabulous pearls. My personal pick of the crop would be the carved flourite and jade flowers!

Sara Murphy, Ann Clemens, Maria Dao and Brigid Wilbury bring an end to their generous discounts…..

Finally, don’t forget to register your interest if you want to learn lampworking on dual fuel (Minor Burner) torches or if you just want to add to your existing skills! Kimmyg will be teaching at Sunshine Coast Hot Glass Studio from the beginning of October. Actual dates and prices have yet to be set, but use the contact formto register your interest so that we can keep you informed.
